Telangana is a semi-arid area and has a hot and dry climate. Summers start in March, and end in May with average high temperatures in the 42 °C range. The monsoon arrives in June and lasts until September with about 755 mm of precipitation. A dry, mild winter starts in late November and lasts until early February with little humidity with average temperature of 22–23 °C range.
In districts of Telangana like Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Medak (Northern part), Warangal (Except N.W.Part), Eastern tips of Nalgonda and Khammam the soil Types are Chalkas, Red sandy soils, Dubbas and Deep Red loamy soils.
